Swedish Logent Group has signed an agreement for a majority stake in Misi. The acquisition of this Dutch fulfilment company is expected to be completed next month. It is unknown how much money Logent paid for the majority stake.

The acquisition is a strategic move by Logent to be more present in the Netherlands. Managing director Linda Aidanpää Baronnet says: “We want to strengthen our operation in one of the largest logistics markets in Europe. It gives us a good base for further growth in Europe.”

Further expansion in Europe

It is the second acquisition in a short time for Logent. Less than a month ago, the company acquired Finnish competitor Logistikas. Misi’s acquisition, it says, marks its accelerated international expansion. Logent is already present at the Dutch market. It has a warehouse of over 40,000 square metres in Duiven, which Misi can now also use.

Logent already has warehouse in the Netherlands.

Misi focuses on ecommerce fulfilment and serves around 150 customers, including Tonys Chocolonely. To respond to expected growth, it plans to expand its warehouse capacity from 7,000 to 11,000 square metres.

‘Misi can now also accelerate growth’

Patrick de Waal, CFO and CTO at Misi, is looking forward to the partnership. “Logent’s presence in the Dutch market and their logistics premises will allow us to accelerate our growth,” he said. De Waal therefore sees the strategic partnership as a logical step for Misi.
