When it comes to the visual novel genre, we’ve had vampires, classic school settings and cyberpunk visuals. Weeping Willow now gives us detectives!

Releasing today on Xbox, Playstation and Switch, following a successful release back in 2019 in PC world, Weeping Willow throws it back to medieval times, with it being set in the small town of Weidendorf. You will primarily follow the trials and tribulations of Baroness Von Wolf, following the mysterious disappearance (and equally mysterious reapparance) of her husband, the esteemed Baron Von Wolf. Whilst she would love to find out just what the hell is going on, unfortunately Weidendorf is amidst the clutches of a plague, plunging Baroness Von Wolf into home-quarantine.

This short plot then plays out, full of betrayals, speculation and the like: it’s of course up to you to converse with many residents of the town, and get to the bottom of this conspiracy. Soon enough, the Baroness will be in fact fearing for her own life, as things turn very ugly, very quickly…

If you are a lover of visual novels, then we’d suspect that Weeping Willow will be firmly on your radar of games to play. But we’d urge you to read our full review of the game on Xbox Series X|S first – we’ve certainly played better visual novels in recent times, games like the Pokemon-like DoraKone, for instance.

If you are sold, it is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch and PC. Via the Xbox Store with two different versions in place depending on whether you wish to play on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One. Expect a download of the game to set you back just £4.19.

A few days later he was found in the local parish of the Scarlet Rose Order, but the baroness claims that she does not recognize her husband. Other people confirms the identity of the impostor and no one believes her. Because of the plague quarantine, the young Baroness is a captive of her own home and begins to seriously fear for her life.
