The EIT Digital Challenge is on a mission to find the best deep tech entrepreneurs that Europe has to offer, to help them scale internationally and to bolster the European deep tech ecosystem. Now in its tenth year, 20 finalists will be invited to the exclusive Challenge Final Event with up to 10 winners gaining free entry to the EIT Digital Accelerator Programme.

Deeptech is heating up in Europe right now. Thanks to support from bodies like EIT Digital, and growing investor interest, the market is bursting with promising innovations and startups developing game-changing tech which has a high impact on shaping our future.

The EIT Digital Challenge application period is still open, but there’s only 1 week left to APPLY!

The challenge provides a platform for deep tech companies and innovative entrepreneurs to showcase their solutions and reach global success. With the support of EIT Digital, previous Accelerator programme participants have gone on to raise €900 million. You could be one of them.

We wanted to learn more about the Accelerator experience so we sat down with two EIT Digital Accelerator alumni, Homeland and Advitos, who have gone on to successfully raise and scale.

Homeland . immo logoHomeland: Secured €9 million to bring efficiency to real estate

Through its participation in the EIT Digital Accelerator, French startup Homeland secured a €9 million Series A round.

Homeland entered the EIT Digital Accelerator in 2021 and in 2022 it secured this hefty investment, supercharging its mission to digitize real estate. The innovative company offers a proprietary SaaS platform that boosts efficiency and customer satisfaction by automating recurring tasks and real-time reporting.

The funding, which was secured thanks to access to EIT Digital’s network, has enabled the team to expand into new markets, including Germany and Benelux, as well as enhance product development. CEO and co-founder of Homeland Frédéric Remeur commented, the “EIT Digital team provided us with strong support by identifying and contacting potential investors throughout Europe.”

ADVITOS GmbH logoAdvitos: €20 million for its healthtech innovation

HealthTech scaleup Advitos was created to tackle organ failure – a common cause of death in ICUs. The company, which is based in Munich, secured €20 million in 2021 after its participation in the Accelerator programme.

Advitos’ solution, the ADVOS multi-device, provides an integrated 4-in-1 multi-organ support therapy that enables simultaneous support of all three main detoxification organs – liver, lungs, and kidney – and corrects acid-base imbalances in the blood. Given that organ failure causes the deaths of approximately half a million intensive care patients in Western Europe and the USA every year, the solution has the potential to leave a positive impact on a global level.

Thanks to EIT Digital, Advitos received dedicated coaching as well as a targeted introduction to hand-picked investors, making the investor-startup matchmaking process as smooth as possible. Since the raise, the company has gone on to expand its team and partner with different hospitals to bring this life-saving treatment to the people who need it.

Catherine Schreiber, co-founder of ADVITOS remarks, “this kind of highly competent hands-on fundraising support is a strongly needed and highly effective measure to secure and enable scaling of European deep tech innovations.”

You could be the next success story!

There’s just one week left to apply to this year’s EIT Digital Challenge! It’s an amazing opportunity for Europe’s up-and-coming deeptech players and something you don’t want to miss out on.
