ten dates keyart

Remember the days of lockdown? It was those which birthed Five Dates, the interactive rom-com from Wales Interactive – and it was that which has allowed for the arrival of the follow-up, Ten Dates.

Doubling the dates and keeping the scene fresh, Ten Dates from the prolific FMV champions at Wales Interactive and the development team at Good Gate Media takes that full-motion video scene and runs with it, providing players with the chance to take in a host of stories and narratives.

Available to purchase and download on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android (as well as running a demo on PC), Ten Dates may just be the perfect Valentine’s Day distraction.

The sequel to Five Dates, Ten Dates focuses on a couple of London-based millennials, Misha and Ryan, as you help them look for love through the speed dating scene. It covers all bases too, letting you pick and choose the paths these guys take in their lives, with dialogue options helping strengthen the connection that Misha and Ryan will have with a variety of partners.

Written and directed by Paul Raschid, Ten Dates stars talent from a variety of popular television shows including Rosie Day (Outlander), Kaine Zajaz (The Witcher), Charlie Maher (Conversations with Friends), Meaghan Martin (Camp Rock), Ellie James (I May Destroy You),
and Rhiannon Clements (Death On The Nile).

And it’s a game that features plenty of LGBTQ+ and disability representations, with plenty of candidates ready to fill that special part of your heart. Or at least the heart’s of Misha and Ryan as they attempt to charm five potential matches each through introspective questions, unnerving ice-breakers, jaw-dropping revelations, and plenty of regrettable and embarrassing exchanges.

The key features of Ten Dates include:

  • Play as a female (Misha) or male (Ryan) Londoner looking for love
  • Talent includes Rosie Day (Outlander), Charlie Maher (Conversations with Friends), Meaghan Martin (Camp Rock), Sagar Radia (Industry), Sam Buchanan (The Power), Kaine Zajaz (The Witcher), Ellie James (I May Destroy You), and Rhiannon Clements (Death On The Nile)
  • Features LGBTQ+ and disability representation
  • Real-time relationship status tracking evolves based on choices and influences the story
  • Branching narrative and multi-directional chain of conversation topics
  • Streamer mode and full controller support

So does it work? Well, we’ve gone and given Ten Dates a 4/5 in review, extremely well taken by the authentic dating scene and well written narratives. There are some great acting performances on offer too, even if a couple of the characters fall a little flat.

Ten Dates will be well worth playing though, especially of appeal to those who have found love in the FMV scene previous. If that’s you, head over to the Xbox Store and pick up a download of Ten Dates on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S right now. You’ll also find the game on PlayStation, Switch, PC (Steam)and mobile.
