On June 16, a groundbreaking ceremony was held by the Graton Resort & Casino, the San Francisco Bay Area’s leading gambling facility owned by the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, marking the official expansion of the Rohnert Park resort.  The expansion includes a new parking structure with solar panels that will begin construction tomorrow. In addition, other expansion projects are planned for the said casino-resort, which include an additional hotel wing and an extended casino floor, which will take place in the future.

New job opportunities:

This new expansion project will directly create 2,000 temporary construction jobs and hire 600 of the newest members of the Graton Resort & Casino team. Additionally, Graton Resort & Casino is already one of the biggest private employers in Sonoma County.

Layout of the expansion project:

A planned future expansion of the casino floor will add roughly 144,000 square feet, along with 2,000 of the latest slot machines, a new poker room and a new high-limit zone. Additionally, it will also involve:

  • the newest five-story hotel wing with more than 200 rooms;
  • 28,000 square-foot rooftop restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating equipped to hold 480 guests;
  • five-level parking with solar panels and charging stations for electric vehicles;
  • theater with 3,500 seats.

Commenting on the expansion, Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria Tribal Chairman Sarris, said: “This is an exciting day, and we’re thrilled to begin construction. The expansion reflects our consistent mission to provide the highest quality guest experience at Graton Resort & Casino. We’ve been working on these plans for several years, and we’re excited to create new job opportunities here in Sonoma County.”
