Can you believe that this week sees the start of Series 15 in Forza Horizon 5? It seems like only yesterday I was tentatively putting some of my tunes out there, and now we are back into the Holiday Season and Summer again with this new series.

So, what can we expect from Horizon Holidays? Well, for me, the most tantalising prospect is the promise of a new-to-Forza car, if people around the world send enough gifts to each other over the series. I don’t know how many we have to send, but I’ll be gifting all the cars I already own, that’s for sure!

But in terms of the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 15 Summer, what is in store? Well, let’s head to Mexico, shall we?

Part 1: #Forzathon Weekly Challenge – Bubble Trouble

The subject of this week’s car challenge is frankly a ridiculous piece of engineering – the BMW Isetta 300 Export, a car that you access through a single door on the front, and where your knee bones are connected to the outside world by nothing more than a thin piece of steel.

Still, we have to drive it, so get down to the Autoshow and stump up 45,000 credits, if you don’t have one already.

Chapter 1 – Bubble Bath

Get in your new Isetta and take it for a spin. Carefully, mind!

Chapter 2 – Micro Machine

This is a bit of an issue for me, as we have to keep it stock and hit 55mph on any speed trap. The one in my garage is a tad upgraded, being capable of 194 mph. Still, a trip to the Autoshow and a shiny new one made everything better.

I’d suggest the Hot Wheels park for this one, as a speed trap on a massive hill will at least put gravity on your side.

Chapter 3 – Multi Tasking

Now I can upgrade!

We have to earn four stars at any PR Stunt, so with share code :145448300 under your belt, you should be good to go to whatever takes your fancy.

Except maybe drift zones, the wheelbase is just too short.

Chapter 4 – Small Wonder

Finally, we need to soar like an eagle and get two stars at a danger sign. Easy enough with this tune.

And that is the end of this week’s fun in small cars.

Part 2 – Weekly Challenges

Now we can finally get into the meat and drink of the new season, with racing to do in The Trial and no less than three Seasonal Championships. The Treasure hunt returns, the photo challenge this week is a little bit different, and to crown it all off, the Eventlab is back; you all know how much I love an Eventlab challenge, right?

So, without further ado, let’s dive on in.

The Trial – Make it Rein

You see what they did there? Rein like in reindeer? Comedy gold, I tell you.

So, the weekly invitation to trawl the internet and scoop up four like minded co drivers, and take on a team of unbeatable driverbots. This week’s challenge is to use A Class 800 Super Saloons only, and so I went with the very much a saloon BMW M3 from 2008, and the share code is: 417044696.

It appears to be offroad, so the tune has some chunky tyres to help cope, as well as AWD.

For beating the unbeatable, we can have another BMW M3, this time the classic E30 from 1991.

Eventlab – FATEFU1BLISS Presents Fame and Fortune

Fame and Fortune, eh? Sounds promising.

We have to take a modern sports car, tuned to a maximum of A Class 800 around a track. As there isn’t any competition, as usual, I went with a stock Audi TT RS, mainly as it was first alphabetically in my garage!

With each lap taking well under a minute, at least this one doesn’t outstay its welcome.

Completing the course will get us a Super Wheelspin, which is better than a hat, I suppose.

Danger Sign – Base Jump

The PR Stunts this week are tied to a single car, the Urbanrebel ‘22, tuned to a maximum of S1 Class 900. There is no easy way to say this, but you need to buy the car, for a cool 2,000,000 credits. It is under “Cupra” in the Autoshow.

Sadly, in stock trim at least, this EV is pretty rubbish and would struggle to pull the skin off a rice pudding, so I fiddled with it a bit and made the share code: 151699124.

For this one, we need to make the car fly, over a distance of 450m.

A Super Wheelspin will be forthcoming if you manage it.

Speed Trap – Escarpment

Again, we need the Urbanrebel for this, and to the same level of tune. This time we need to hit the speed trap at 160mph, which seems pretty reasonable.

Same share code as before should cope, hopefully!

Another Super Wheelspin will be yours for speeding sufficiently.

Seasonal Championship – Toys Under The Tree

For this set of races, we need to use a Track toy class car, tuned to a maximum of S1 Class 900. Clearly, there’s only one car for the job, and this was the arse-engined wonder itself, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The share code for mine is: 129256081, and with a sufficient dose of brave pills, should see you right.

Our reward for winning all the championship solo or best two out of three in a convoy is a Jaguar F-Type. I think the F stands for “Flippin’ quick!”.

Seasonal Championship – Not So Silent Night

Another set of races, and this time our restriction is Modern Supercars, again to a maximum of S1 Class 900. I chose a Nissan GT-R, my favourite car in the whole world, and the model I chose was the 2017 version – the share code: 972597860.

If anyone has a spare 50K, I’d like one in white, please. Santa?

Winning this time around gets us a TVR Griffith, a car not known for its silent credentials.

Seasonal Championship – Yule The Boss

Good grief, is there no end to the hilarious Christmas based puns?

This time we need to use a Modern Rally car, but only to a maximum of B Class 700, so it will be a more sedate affair than the last two.

I chose an Evo, obviously, and the Evo VIII MR is my weapon of choice. The share code is: 141172186.

For winning, we will take home an Audi RS4 from 2013. Better than socks, I guess.

Part 3 – Other Challenges

Finally the Treasure Hunt makes a triumphant return, and the photo challenge is a little different as well this week. Let’s show you what you need to do, shall we?

Photo Challenge – #HIDEANDSEEK

For this week’s challenge, we don’t need any particular car, we just need to find a snowman. We need to visit the player house in Mulege, Casa Bella, and find a snowman that has been put around the place.

Once located, snap away. It is to the left as you drive in, about halfway up the wall.

I’ll include my arty shot and the location below. The prize is some seasonal sleigh bells to have as your horn.

Treasure Hunt – Driving Season

This week, the clue reads “Drive home for the holidays in a famously green manufacturer” with a picture of an Aston Martin in British Racing Green to really hammer the point home. Now, the actual method to do this is a bit weird, so bear with me.

I did it in an Aston Martin Vantage, and the first step is to paint it the manufacturer green from the Autoshow or your house.

The next step is to drive the newly green car for five miles, before the treasure chest appears. It is in Playa Azul, and I will share the location below.

The chest has 100 FP in, which is always nice.

Horizon Open – Seasons Greetings

For this week’s Open challenge, you simply have to get three Clean Start skills in races. The other cars are ghosted at the start, so crashing should be tricky, but to be sure, I usually let  the other players start off alone and then set off when the coast is clear.

Avoid crashing and this challenge should be complete in three races.

What do you get? A Holiday Sweater, of course! Just the thing for that famously cold Mexican weather…

Part 4 – Hot Wheels Events

As we all know by now I’m sure, in order to compete in these events, you have to have reached at least Elite level in the Hot Wheels expansion. Assuming you have, let’s have a look at what is on offer this week.

Speed Zone – Frozen Rush

A speed zone, with ice as a road surface, an S2 Class 998 car, and a target of 190mph means only one thing in my (admittedly short) book: yes, it’s time for the Koenigsegg Agera to come out to play!

The share code is: 109282883 and while this is a challenge, it is doable with a decent run up.

A Super Wheelspin could be yours if you zoom around fast enough.

Seasonal Championship – Melting the Ice

The final championship for this week, and it promises to be a good one: S1 Class 900 and Modern Muscle cars are the rules. So, obviously, it had to be a Mustang, and I went with the Shelby GT500 from 2020, which is still a great looking lump of metal.

The share code is: 335181307, and with AWD and a lot of power, this beast should see you right.

The prize for triumphing is a Porsche 944, the very car my mother bought herself for her 50th birthday. Not sure you can get it in the same horrible brown she had though…

As we stick on the Santa hats, a couple more Monthly Rivals events pop up too. These are present throughout the course of Series 15, and so there’s no real rush for you to complete them. They are quick, snappy little affairs though, asking you to just nail a clean lap of the Estadio Circuit (Monthly Rivals) and/or the Arch of Mulege Circuit (Forza EV). There are 4pts associated with the completion of each; point which go towards your reward cars.

And what are they? Well, Series 15 runs the No. 22 Extreme E for 80pts and the Ferrari Cali T for 160pts. You’ll need to complete at least these Summer and then next week’s Autumn challenges to start getting near those.

In the meantime, Series 15 – Summer rewards with the AMC Javelin for 20pts and the BMW E92 M3 GTS for 40pts. Following our guide will easily enable you to grab those.

Once summer is out of the way, we move into further seasons with new reward cars – Autumn (Plymouth Fury 20pts, Dodge Super Bee 40pts), Winter (Caddy Limo and M-B 300 SLR and Spring (AMC Rebel and the Porsche 911C2 GW). We’ll have guides, tunes and the fastest cars you’ll need as each season rolls into play.

To compete in the Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you just need to ensure you have a copy of the game in your digital library. It’s playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S or PC. If you don’t yet have it, the Xbox Store will sort you out, either for cash or through the power of Game Pass.

As always, we’d love to hear what you think of this article. The comments are below and we’re always waiting over on the usual social channels.
