Event Overview – European Competition
Kicking off this weekend, the Elisa Invitational Spring 2023 will be spanning multiple months. Specifically, the event will take place between 20th March and 10th June 2023.
Taking place online, the top 28 Tier 2 teams in Europe will compete with $25,000 on the line.
However, this is not a simple Tier 2 CSGO event, thanks to an exciting format, and teams have been invited according to the format.
Elisa Invitational Spring 2023 Format – Multiple Stages
Split into three stages, the three months of competition will carry on as follows:
- Contenders Swiss Stage – March 20th – April 20th
- Main Swiss Stage – April 24th – June 1st
- Playoffs – June 6th – June 10th
In both the Contenders and the Main Swiss Stage, a top 16 Team Swiss System Format will be taking place.
Specifically, Round 1 and 2 matches are BO1 followed by BO3 in the Contenders Swiss Stage. Meanwhile, Main Swiss Stage will only feature BO3 matches.
From each stage, only the top 8 will proceed to the next Stage.
Once in the Playoffs, the final 8 will fight through a single elimination bracket where all matches are BO3.

Predictions – Wide Open Tournament
The last time we saw one of these CSGO tournaments hosted by Elisa of this nature was back last year, at the Elisa Invitational Fall 2022.
With an entirely identical format, however, the standings from that event involved completely different teams competing and finishing in the top 3.
Indeed, for those unaware, Tier 2 CSGO rosters tend to be in a constant state of change, making it very difficult to predict.
However, it’s likely that Elisa will be inviting some top CSGO teams to be part of the 8 in the Main Swiss Stage – these teams will be favoured to make a deep run in the Playoffs once they get there.
