The next F1 season is fast approaching and whilst all eyes point to upcoming test days and the next instalment of Netflix’s Drive to Survive, the last few weeks have been dominated by the reveals of the latest – and greatest – cars and their liveries. Today, EA SPORTS F1 22 racers have the chance to race one of those cars, as the game gets a real-world activation, adding in the first 2023 car livery, just in time for some Game Pass love.

For many it’ll be the Mercedes which is seen as the best-looking car on the 2023 grid, going back to black as Lewis Hamilton and George Russell chase glory. Others will get behind the wheel of the stunning Ferrari, or the rather cool looking Williams. But it’s the latest Alfa Romeo that has gathered up a ton of hype since livery launch, and it’s that car which becomes available in EA SPORTS F1 22.

An in-game first that allows players to race the car that will be seen pounding the laps that Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu will be behind the wheel of, sees the Alfa Romeo F1 Team 2023 C43 car arrive on the scene.

Available in Time Trial mode ahead of that pre-season testing, the striking red and black design is an F1 fan favourite for the coming season, as the team look to best their P6 finish in last season’s championship.

“Pre-season testing is a highly anticipated moment in the Formula 1 calendar and the first opportunity for fans to see how the new cars perform on the grid,” said John Merchant, F1 Global Brand Director at EA SPORTS. “We’re delighted to become part of the 2023 re-start by giving our players the opportunity to be the first to race and test the C43.”

“Fans mean everything to us, and to be able to give them the chance to drive our new Alfa Romeo F1 Team C43 before they even see it on track in real life is something that was never done before in the official F1 video games,” said Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Managing Director of Sauber Group and Alfa Romeo F1 Team Representative. “We’re proud to be at the leading edge of this pioneering approach, but this is not the whole story: we have a lot more in store, planned for the season, and we can’t wait to show you.”

You’ll find the C43 present and correct anytime now in EA SPORTS F1 22, which is perfect timing as the game is being added to the Play List from March 2nd, making the game available for EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members.

You’ll find EA SPORTS F1 22 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation and PC from the usual stores – the Xbox Store being our port of call.
