We can’t wait for you to discover the dark secrets of Black Iron Prison in this all-new sci-fi survival horror game from Dead Space creator Glen Schofield and the team at Striking Distance Studios.

We recently released the game’s launch trailer, giving you a taste of what to expect after you crash land on Callisto. And while you can expect the game to feature an oppressive atmosphere, unrelenting tension, and unspeakable brutality, there’s a few details that you may have missed. So, we’ve gathered up five details we think you may want to pay attention to the next time you watch our launch trailer:
- That song … what is it? The song on the launch trailer is an original track from Kings Elliot called “Lost Again.” She wrote the song specifically for the game while she was on the road with Imagine Dragons this summer. She was watching cuts of the trailer and sending the team vocal takes from backstage while on the road. It’s a haunting track that we think has an awesome cinematic feel.
- Is that a city? Karen Fukuhara (“The Boys”) plays Dani Nakamura, the leader of a resistance force called the Outer Way. The trailer provides a few clues at Dani’s mysterious backstory and sets the stage for even more surprises in the game’s story.
- Who gives Jacob the shiv? Josh Duhamel plays Jacob Lee in the game, and there’s no way he’s getting out of Black Iron Prison without a little help. Here we meet Elias (played by Zeke Alton), a fellow inmate who will prove to be instrumental in Jacob’s struggle to survive the chaos that has enveloped Callisto.

- Is that Sam Witwer? Yes! The trailer gives players their first glimpse of Sam Witwer as Leon Ferris, the captain of Black Iron’s guard. Leon rules over the prison with an iron fist and this will certainly not be the last time he encounters Jacob in the game.
- What’s that creature at the end? There’s a host of nightmarish creatures prowling the halls of Black Iron, but one of the most fearsome monsters has got to be this two-headed monstrosity. Bigger, stronger, and more brutal than the grunts that Jacob encounters throughout the game, this horrifying creature will not stop, even if you split him in two. You’ve been warned. We hope you enjoyed the launch trailer for the game. Now it’s time for Xbox players to get their hands on The Callisto Protocol and explore the halls of Black Iron Prison for themselves. You can pick up the game today on the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
